Prime Gaming Is A Dumb Name
Amazon rebrands Twitch Prime as Prime Gaming (The Verge) Why? I understand that Twitch is mostly used by gaming streamers, but the platform contains much more than that. There's a ton of cooking channels and people just walking the city in real life channels. It just comes off as trying too hard to relate with their gaming partners to make up for their weird policies and DMCA abuses. Imagine if Youtube Premium was called Premium Vlogs or something like that. It's just so unnecessary to brand it like that. And it pops up in Twitch chats. So now instead of the streamer saying, "Thanks for the Twitch Prime subscription," it's now, "Thanks for the Prime Gaming!" It's so clunky! This is just an empty platitude that doesn't show that Twitch cares about it's users or content creators.
